The Naughty Nines attracts the best cowboys & cowgirls in the country to K Ranch Arena. This four day event from 28th June until 1st July is Australia's richest roping contest with over $150,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs.
This year, the Saturday night timed event rodeo spectacular is set to heat things up on an icy Sydney night. The night features a range of entertainment including the top 10 shoot-out in Team Roping, Break Away Roping, Steer Wrestling and Barrel Racing as well as an after party featuring Buddy Goode and Luke O'Shea performing live!
This year the Bikini Barrel Race has been added to the night time program. The contestants, both men & women will brave the cold and put it all on the line to ride and raise funds for the 'Buy a Bale' program which assists farmers in drought affected areas.
Kate Kearney, owner of K Ranch Arena said "A bikini barrel race may seem a bit out there, but they have been happening in USA for over 10 years. It's a fun, light hearted event and a favourite with the competitors and the crowd. If you got it, flaunt it. The guys and girls who are competing have a lot of guts (in the courage sense) and have all agreed to brave the elements to support the farmers going through a tough time."
K Ranch Arena has pledged to raise $5,700 to this cause and will collect donations through the four day event, this will cover the cost of a truck and trailer of hay to be sent to farmers in need!
