After 12 epic years, Melbourne alternative nightclub BANG is confirmed to be closing its doors for good.

The Bourke Street institution, which has hosted the likes of Fred Durst, Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oli Sykes and Andrew WK, will close following ten final events starting from this Saturday.

"You guys have loved BANG unconditionally, and unconditionally BANG has given you all love. You’ve grown with BANG, as BANG has grown with you," a statement issued by the venue reads.

"From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank ALL the incredible venue staff, the promoters, bands, DJs, hosts, door staff, photographers, security guards and all you incredible people for making BANG the longest running and best punk/alt club in Australia.

"You've been our friends and our family for over a decade. This place was for the misfits, for those who didn't fit in, it gave us all a home and a place to belong."

BANG has promised the last events will include "some huge surprise bands, DJs, guests and reunions" for more details, click here.
