Splendour In The Grass director Jess Ducrou has defended the festival's ticket resale facility after some punters accused it of "scamming everyone that wants to go to Splendour".
As noted on Monday's episode of Hack, punters who buy tickets from the resale site, launched last week, have to pay 10% on top of the original ticket cost as well as a booking fee, while sellers lose $30 and their original booking fee.
"There are hard costs associated with being able to offer the resale facility - tech development, administration, labour and ongoing management, a huge amount of inquiries, complications," Ducrou told Hack.
"I know there’s suggestions that we’re making a bunch of money out of this, and yes we’re a business and we do need to make money from the event, but we’re definitely not retiring off this resale.

"It’s not a huge revenue generator at all."
Ducrou argued that the ticket resale facility also encourages punters to steer clear of unofficial ticket resale sites.
"If we didn’t have the resale facility in place, we would find them on the market for thousands and thousands of dollars."
