It's been a pretty huge year for Gang Of Youths, between a #1 album, winning out the ARIA Album Of The Year award and selling out pretty much every show they play, you'd think that would be hard to top…

Oh wait, they just got handpicked by the Foo Fighters to play their US festival.

The Sydney group join the likes of Iggy Pop (with his Post Pop Depression band), Tenacious D, Garbage and a heap more — as well as the Foo Fighters themselves — at Cal Jam Festival in San Bernardino, California on 6 October.

"We are pretty honoured to be playing @foofighters festival," said Gang Of Youths when sharing the news via their Instagram account.

On its debut last year, Cal Jam brought together more than 30,000 punters, and this year boasts comedy shows, carnival rides and camping grounds where campers will be treated to midnight movies and have access to a water park.

Tickets go on sale 17 May, head here for more info.
