WA musos, photographers and more will throw their support behind not-for-profit Short Back & Sidewalks next month when the homeless charity organisation throws its first-ever fundraising event in the form of an exhibition.

As Australia’s leading haircutting service for people experiencing homelessness, poverty, distress, sickness, disability, destitution and more, Short Back & Sidewalks is looking to expand its reach with an event on June 24 that will feature photography, food, drinks, music and more at Bivouac Canteen & Bar.

“Being able to collaborate with our favourite photographers such Ta-ku, Jacqueline Jane and Matsu by showcasing their work documenting what we've done over the past three years is something we're all extremely proud of,” founding director Craig Hollywood said.

"Establishing greater elements of association is something that is key to the aim of Short Back & Sidewalks.

"The fact we regularly combine the efforts of locals from varied backgrounds, not to mention what is currently happening with the fundraiser, really highlights that the sense of community is not just strong, but growing."

With Hollywood moving from Perth to the East Coast in recent years, Short Back & Sidewalks launched in Sydney in 2017 and will soon start in Adelaide and Melbourne.

The event will run from 4pm – 8pm; you can find all the details here.
