A WA institution, live music venue Clancys Fish Pub Fremantle is celebrating three decades this year, unveiling a “blockbuster mini-festival” for later this to commemorate the milestone with a Perth supergroup in tow.
It’s the first in a series of events and will go down on May 26, with two-time Grammy award-winner Lucky Oceans teaming up with former Cold Chisel saxophonist Bill Rogers, Fremantle bluegrass pioneer Jim Fisher and some of their children to make up The Family Band.
“Clancy’s has been supporting the live music scene for 30 years,” booker and marketing manager Tom Fisher said.
“We’ve been serving craft beer and produce from local suppliers well before that was a cool thing to do.”
The event will also feature Fisher’s band, Hamilton Hillbillies, Celtic powerhouse band Fling, and emerging talent in Fraeya and Jack Davies & The Bush Chooks.
Over the years, the likes of Tim Minchin, Paul Kelly, members of San Cisco and more have graced the venue’s stage.
