The Bello Winter Music Festival Youth Mentorship Program has officially opened for applications and the 2018 mentors have been announced.
The program aims to encourage aspiring musicians under the age of 19 to pursue a career in music through a mentorship by an artist on the festival bill.
This year's mentors are Tony Rowley of Titan Sky, Xani Kolac of The Twoks as well as singer-songwriters Ash Bell and Sal Kimber.
“This year’s mentors are all exceptional artists who have an invaluable wealth of performance and industry experience to share with their category winners,” Bello Winter Music Festival Organiser, Nino Haggith said.
“The Youth Mentorship Program is all about encouraging, developing and nurturing up and coming artists and their stories through their music. We look forward to applications for this year’s mentorship program”
Each participant will get a rehearsal session with their mentor, a 20-minute performance at the festival with their mentor backstage, the opportunity to watch their mentor perform from backstage and a weekend pass to the festival.
“I am so stoked about this initiative,” mentor Ash Bell said.
“Some of the top singer-songwriters from all over the place are here. The community is solid and supportive and nurturing and welcoming, and Bello is the perfect melting pot for the newbies to get a taste of it all, meet some heroes and be part of something wonderful.”
Applications for the program are open now and close 6 June, for more information head to the official website.
