Electronic duo and Splendour In The Grass 2018 act Antony & Cleopatra are today taking fans behind the scenes and into the studio where they recorded their new single The Islands.
The new song continues on from the pair's breakthrough singles Dust and Twitch, featuring expansive techno beats contrasting with Cleopatra's (aka East Londoner Anita Blay) smooth vocals.
"For me, it’s about the over-romanticizing the idea of ‘getting away from it all'.Then realizing that once you’re on a beach with your feet up, you’re suddenly craving the hustle and ambition of a big city like London," Blay said.
“We wanted the track to mimic the metric 'clock is ticking' feeling you experience every day in London...everyone pushing and trying to make it happen."
Before kicking it on the Splendour stage later in the year, Antony & Cleopatra will act as support for Riton & Kahlo on their festival sideshows in Melbourne and Sydney.
Tickets are on sale now; for more information, head to theGuide.
