The Killers' frontman Brandon Flowers promised their Sydney crowd some surprises throughout the show and he certainly did deliver!

Playing at Sydney's Qudos Bank Arena on Saturday night, The Killers were one song into their encore set when they invited The Vines' frontman Craig Nicholls to join them.

"One of the bands that kickstarted it [rock'n'roll] again happen to be from Australia and they're called The Vines," said Flowers before Nicholls appeared.

They played through a version of The Vines' best-known track, Get Free, with Nicholls and Flowers sharing vocal duties, with Nicholls' then staying on stage to join the group for their track, When You Were Young.

Nicholls appearance came just one day after The Vines' drummer Hamish Rosser joined the group on stage in Brisbane, as reported by NME.

Brothers in arms. #GetFree #neverforget
