The second radio ratings for 2018 are set to be delivered next week but 2Day FM breakfast host Em Rusciano has not minced her words when discussing her show and the struggling network during a comedy show.
According to Mumbrella, the comic joked about her show (which also features Grant Denyer and Ed Kavalee) and the network which has struggled in the breakfast slot ever since the departure of Kylie & Jackie O in 2014, during a performance at Sydney Opera House last week.
Rusciano's show pulled a share of just 3.4% in the first survey of 2018, ensuring it again sits at the bottom of the FM breakfast ladder.
"You guys, enjoy me while you can, because they’ll replace me with 2Day FM Breakfast with Schapelle Corby by the end of the year," Rusciano joked.
She continued, "They’re going to have to fucking fire me, you know that… I’m my own worst enemy. I’m going to get myself sacked. You fucking know that."
The Victorian-born comic went one step further by performing a parody of global hit, Despacito, again taking shots at the role she's occupied at 2DayFM since January last year.
Read the lyrics below:
Alphabucks and endless R&B Friday mashups,
Talking publicly about my fuckups,
Have I mentioned the 4am get ups?
Going out and deliberately starting arguments,
With people that I haver never met,
Just so I can get some fucking content
Breakfast radio
Pretending to care about Taylor Swift, oh,
The same song 20 times on my shift, oh
Can’t say fuck, shit, cunt or bitch, oh
Breakfast radio
I never thought I would be here again, oh
Sitting next to the king of Family Feud, oh,
Is anybody out there even tuning on oh?
