Following her critically-acclaimed 2017 EP Night Thinker, Amy Shark has today given fans the first taste of her forthcoming debut album with new single, I Said Hi.
Having already won an APRA Award and been named on the Splendour 2018 line-up, the Gold Coast songwriter is capping off an incredible week by announcing with the single's release; a track Shark says is about overcoming adversity.
"I was in this really tragic band and when it fell apart I kept going," Shark said.
"I got a few little, tiny hints of like, ‘Oh, you know, you might get somewhere,’ and it was enough to keep me hungry…this song isn’t just about one’s struggle to succeed; it’s an anthem for anyone who is waking up everyday fighting for what they believe in and challenging the universe!"

Meanwhile the forthcoming record, Love Monster, is set for release on 13 July.
Appearing as this week's special guest on The Music Podcast With Dave & Neil, Shark said of the album, "I think I want to start explaining it like the first two seasons of a great series you've just found.
"It's full of so much drama. There's first loves, there's rejection and lies and beautiful moments and nasty moments and there's a death. It's a great series."
