Golden Globe-nominated actor John Cameron Mitchell has just announced a huge national tour celebrating his beloved musical Hedwig & The Angry Inch.
Fans of the film/musical are in for a treat as Mitchell brings his new show The Origin Of Love: The Songs & Stories Of Hedwig to Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane this June and July.
"At last! My journey to Oz, long-deferred by silly obstacles like unemployment and airfare, is a reality!" Mitchell said.
"I shall strap on a Cubist corset and chromium wig, regale you with haphazard stories from 55 years of fake rock stardom and wail your favourite Hedwig songs like some kind of wonder woman within. Please prepare for my imminent arrival"
The performer wrote, directed and starred in the 2001 film, nabbing himself Best Director at Sundance Festival, before adapting it to the multi-Tony Award-winning Broadway musical.
The musical’s many US runs have starred the likes of Neil Patrick Harris, Dexter’s Michael C Hall, Girls’ Andrew Rannells and Glee’s Darren Criss.
Tickets to Brisbane and Adelaide are on sale now, Sydney and Melbourne tickets are on sale from Friday, 6 April; for more information, head to theGuide.
