Following his record-breaking stadium tour of the country last month, Ed Sheeran has cracked yet another feat in the Australian music industry and this time it involves national treasure, John Farnham.
The UK songwriter's 2017-released album, ÷ (Divide), took out #1 on the ARIA Albums chart yet again this past weekend, marking its 26th week atop the list.

The placing ensured Sheeran surpassed Farnham's iconic Whispering Jack 25-week run at #1 back in 1986/1987.
The only other albums that have appeared for longer at #1 on the ARIA Albums chart are Delta Goodrem’s Innocent Eyes which spent 29 weeks at #1 in 2003/2004, Adele’s 21 which spent thirty two weeks at #1 back in 2011/2012 and Dire Straits’ Brothers In Arms which spent 34 weeks in top spot in 1985/1986.
