Stag Music Touring has officially been declared ‘defunct’ in the wake of alleged fraudulent activity involving the company’s former boss.

Earlier this year, promoter and sacked Bald Faced Stag leaseholder Scott Mackenzie was caught up in a scandal that involved missing band and promoter payments.

The fallout from that left the touring company Stag Music Touring struggling.

Tour manager Buzz Burnsen has now confirmed to The Music the company has officially folded due to the resulting financial pressure.

“While I would love to continue, the damage has been done,” Burnsen told The Music.

“I don't have the financial support either, otherwise I'd probably start something else.”

After cancelling Once Human’s March/April tour last month, Burnsen confirmed via Facebook this week that the company’s upcoming Pain tour would still go ahead, with Overdrive Touring and Hardline Media taking over.

“After the fall out I was left on my own to pick up the pieces and find a solid, suitable promoter to take over [Pain].”

“It took a few knock backs but we got there in the end. So, while I have no idea where my future lies in this industry, I do know that the Pain tour is in great hands and I couldn't be more happier about that.”

Pain’s Australian tour will commence in May. Check out theGuide for all the details.
