Melbourne live music venue The Brunswick Hotel has been forced to close its doors “until further notice” following flood damage.
Early on Thursday morning, a car hit a fire hydrant outside of the venue, resulting in flooding and severe structural damage.
“The stage area with all the PA equipment was flooded and the ceiling collapsed in a few places,” venue manager David Frankie Cudmore told Herald Sun.
All upcoming events at The Brunswick Hotel have put on hold, including this weekend’s performances from Degrees Of Separation, Rowboy and more.
Situated in the heart of Brunswick, the venue was a hotspot for punk bands and emerging talent, with artists like Strawberry Fist Cake, Three Quarter Beast and I Am Duckeye inking songs about it.
