Two tribute screenings of Gurrumul, the documentary about the iconic musician's life, have been announced featuring exclusive live performances.

The Sydney and Melbourne events will be preceded by special musical performances from Gurrumul’s brother, Jonathan Yunupingu, producer Michael Hohnen with Sarah Blasko joining in Sydney and Paul Kelly in Melbourne.

One dollar from every screening ticket sold will be donated to the Gurrumul Yunupingu Foundation, which creates opportunities for Indigenous youth in remote areas of Australia.

The screenings are set to take place in mid-April, ahead of the national theatre release of the film on 25 April.
