Adam Brand has taken out the coveted Australian Artist Of The Year trophy at last night's CMC Music Awards.
Held at The Star Gold Coast, the Perth artist took out the night's major win, an award he has already won three times previously, as well as Australian Video Of The Year for Drunk.
"My heart is pounding out of my chest right now," Brand said when accepting the award.
"The fans – the ‘Brand wagon’ fans – from the bottom of my heart they’ve been there this whole journey and to have them still there even to this day after 20 years is just mind blowing and I love them."
Country music king Keith Urban took home both international gongs — International Artist Of The Year and International Video Of The Year (The Fighter) — while Travis Collins and Christie Lamb took home the Male and Female Artist Of The Year awards respectively.
"I wish I could be there tonight with you guys celebrating the CMC’s up there in Queensland, my home state," Urban said when accepting the International Video Of The Year award via satellite.
"Thank you so much for this award for The Fighter. I had a blast making this video, Carrie Underwood thank you very much for making it so fun. All you guys at CMC thank you for playing it and for everybody who voted thank you very much."
Elsewhere, Tailgate Drive won the Rob Potts Tribute/CMC New Artist of Year award and The McClymonts took out Group or Duo Of The Year, while Lee Kernaghan was handed the ARIA Award for Highest Selling Australian Artist and Canadian legend Shania Twain was awarded the ARIA for Highest Selling International Album Of The Year (Now).
