Prodigy producer Black Summer, aka Rhys Toms, is making his triumphant return to the scene in 2018 with a brand-new track, Sadness, and a stunning video to go with it, premiering today on TheMusic.com.au.
The 14-year-old artist is doubling down on his expansive new sound with a clip that takes him through lush rainforests, punishing deserts and snow-capped mountains.
The new track features the vocals of blue-haired Bahamian singer Chloe Campbell who also appears throughout the multi-terrain video.
"We shot the video while Chloe and I were both in LA. The story of the video is two people who are trying to connect but they can’t get to the same place at the same time," Toms said.
"Like in the song, they’re in two different mind frames."
Sadness is the first tune that the fresh-faced producer has dropped since his 2017 comeback cut Young Like Me which featured Canadian singer Lowell.
The new single will be officially released on 23 March, with the young artist teasing more live performances during 2018.
