Melbourne's Etihad Stadium has been hit with a number of complaints after Ed Sheeran's concert on Saturday night, as some punters fainted due to the hot conditions.
As Yahoo7 reports, despite temperatures reaching 35 degrees in Melbourne, the decision to keep the Etihad Stadium roof closed during the concert resulted in some fans being wheeled out mid-show, while others collapsed before Sheeran even took to the stage.
One punter who was positioned on the third level of the venue, Melanee Jardine, saw other concert-goers be taken out of the venue.
"In the first act they had to stop and get security to help someone who had fainted. Then it just kept happening all show," Jardine said.
"We had a young girl in our row pass out from the heat too.
"It was terrible and unnecessary when they had access to having the roof open."
The Music reviewer, Michael Prebeg, was also at the show and noted that support act Missy Higgins made reference to the heat.

The review reads, "'It’s a nice chilly this evening, isn’t it Melbourne?' Missy Higgins asks sarcastically. By this point it feels like a sauna".
An Etihad Stadium spokesperson has responded to the complaints, saying that the roof was closed at the request of the touring management.
"Patrons health and safety is always our number one priority and we were continually monitoring the situation. The temperatures inside the stadium was not at a level that put Ed’s fans at risk," they said.
"Free water stations were available throughout the venue for fans to continually hydrate throughout the concert and they were encouraged to do so.
"On the stadium floor there was free water being handed out throughout the night to fans."
