London-based, Australian-born musician Hopium has today inked a global publishing deal with Universal Music Australia.
The multi-talented singer/songwriter has been making waves since his track Dreamers was sampled in the Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth mega-hit See You Again.
"Josh is such a talent and has an intrinsic flair for writing killer hooks. Since first meeting in London back in 2016, Josh has worked closely with our incredible creative teams here and in the UK on his development as a gifted songwriter," UMPG A&R Vice President Arwen Hunt said.
"We’re immensely proud to have Josh as part of the Universal Music Publishing family and look forward to the world hearing his songs."
The signing coincides with the release of Hopium’s new single Leave, co-written by Benji Miller and Klaxons member Jamie Reynolds.
Hopium joins a roster that includes the likes of Alex The Astronaut, Gang of Youths, Holy Holy and a bunch more.
