Get ready to cringe because South Australian senator Nick Xenophon just dropped a mini music video in support of his state election bid.
The ad campaign is somewhere in-between late ‘70s public service announcement and a Bollywood film as Xenophon dashes in and out of scenes, dancing, singing and even popping up from a hospital bed.
Xenophon even dragged his co-workers into the low-budget affair with a choir of mildly-uncomfortably-looking SA Best staffers echo the masterful lyrics "We're the best / We're SA Best/ Come on and put us to the test."
The clip comes hot on the heels of the SA election in which Xenophon’s party has been criticized for a lack of concrete policy.
Of course, social media immediately jumped on the video. Check out some of the best responses and the offending material below.
This is actually WHY I left Adelaide 20 years ago in November @Nick_Xenophon but...you do you. https://t.co/inUxqAH759

With all of the threats of defamation action from Nick Xenophon of his political opponents... I think the rest of us South Australians should sue him for sledging our home state in his embarrassing TV ad. Seriously bad. #savotes

Was the @Nick_Xenophon video scheduled for April 1st, but got leaked early?

I just watched @Nick_Xenophon’s pathetic TV commercial and just feel sad. Sad that he talks down my city, sad that he plays into the SA-bashing-culture to score political points, sad that he encourages his supporters to do same. #SAVotes
