Combine the passion of a musical theatre fan and the pure love of a South Park fanatic and you get the close approximation of the level of dedication of a The Book Of Mormon follower, as Sydney found out when punters camped out for more than 24 hours to nab cheap tickets to the beloved show.

Lines snaked around The Star, right up to the box office of the Lyric Theatre, the only place that fans could nab themselves $20 tickets to a late February preview performance before the musical kicks off its multi-month Sydney run.

As reported by The Daily Mail, people started to join the queue as early as midday on Sunday with the crowd swelling to 1000 people by 9am this morning. Due to a strict two tickets per person rule, fans were turned away to avoid missing out on one of the 2,000 tickets on offer.

The Book Of Mormon officially opens on 9 March with performances running right through to the end of July. For more information, head to the official site.
