A 20-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting two police officers at the weekend's Mountain Sounds Festival on the NSW Central Coast.

Along with the arrest, a second man was arrested on drug possession and supply charges after being found with over 90 ecstasy pills. The 20-year-old will face Gosford Local Court on 6 March.

It's alleged that around 50 people were caught with illicit drugs over the two day long festival following sniffer dog searches.

Additionally, paramedics were called to the festival on three occasions; once for a man in his 20's suffering from respiratory distress, another for a woman who had sustained an ankle injury, and a third for 22-year-old woman who appeared to be under the influence of illicit drugs or alcohol intoxication.

Sergeant Bruce Coates has told The Daily Telegraph that police were pleased with the behaviour from most attendees and that there were "no serious assaults or brawls."
