Sydney's iconic Imperial Hotel has confirmed it will finally be reopening its doors next month.

The Erskineville venue closed late last year to undergo $3 million renovations, but it will be back up and running from 2 March.

"It’s with absolute pleasure and insatiable delight that we officially announce the reopening of your beloved iconic jewel – The Imperial Hotel Erskineville," a statement on the Imperial's Facebook page reads.

The news comes just months after the hotel's co-owner said the venue was looking into hosting LGBTI weddings once renovations are complete.

The Imperial was famously forced to close twice in five weeks by police back in 2015, due to drunk and disorderly incidents occurring at the venue.
