Sony Music Entertainment Australia has dropped the massive announcement that it’s partnering with multifaceted music company, Cooking Vinyl Australia.

Sony has committed to an investment in the company that maintains its independent ethos while also helping grow its already established brand.

“Cooking Vinyl Australia are an incredibly talented team and we are delighted to be starting 2018 with this dynamic partnership,” Sony Music Entertainment Australian Chairman & CEO Denis Handlin said.

“This venture will further expand Sony Music’s diverse roster of local and international artists and releases and we are looking forward to an exciting future with Leigh, Stu, and the team.”

Cooking Vinyl Australia’s recordings will now be distributed internationally through Sony Music-owned independent music distributor, The Orchard.

“We are thrilled about what the future holds as we enter this next phase of the business,” Cooking Vinyl Australia Co-Managing Director Leigh Gruppetta said.

“The opportunity to further grow and develop, the careers of our artists and partner labels have just received a massive shot in the arm.”

In 2017, the Cooking Vinyl Australia roster boasted the likes of At The Drive-In, Luca Brasi, Polaris, Against Me and Sorority Noise.
