National representative organisation of Australian community radio, CBAA (Community Broadcasting Association Of Australia) has confirmed it has terminated the contracts of six Amrap (Australian Music Radio Airplay Project) staff members.
The news comes just one month after six Amrap members vacated the CBAA offices, led by manager Chris Johnson, to establish 'The Republic Of Amrap' and protest a proposed restructure, which they claimed would spread Amrap members across numerous CBAA departments and make it difficult to separate its operations and finances from the CBAA.
In a statement given to The Music today, the CBAA confirmed it terminated the employment of the Amrap staff members "following breaches of their employment contracts in recent weeks", however advised the breaches in question are confidential.

"The CBAA remains committed to delivering Amrap and its services as it has over the past two decades," the statement reads.
"Andrew Khedoori has come on board to assist with this. He brings almost 30 years community radio experience with him, with around half that as 2ser’s Music Director."
CBAA has insisted it will continue to manage Amrap and ensures its services remain available to the local music industry.
The Music has reached out to Amrap for further comment.
