President of Warner Music Australasia, Niko Nordström, has been honoured with a prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the Emma Gaala (the Finnish equivalent of the US Grammy Awards) this past weekend.
Held on Saturday night at the Espoo Metro Areena in Helsinki, Nordström, who worked as Managing Director of Warner Music Finland from 2007 to 2017, said he was "deeply honoured" to receive the award.
"My time at Warner Music Finland was hugely rewarding, and to be able to open a new chapter in my career half way around the world in another country with a fantastic, vibrant music scene is a rare and exciting opportunity," Nordström said.
Before moving to his current post in Sydney, Nordström doubled Warner Music's market share in Finland from 15.1% to 30.6% and signed and developed a number of breakthrough Finnish artists.
Warner Music Finland was named Record Company of the Year at the Emma Gaala for eight consecutive years during his tenure.
