Fans of Melbourne’s City Calm Down prepare to be jazzed because the four-piece have just dropped the details of their upcoming album and a brand new tune.
The gang’s highly anticipated second album will be titled Echoes In Blue and will be officially released Friday, 6 April.
"Echoes In Blue is not concerned with answering questions as much as it is with asking them," the band said.
"It is interested in the reality of being spread too thin, of being unable to shut out the noise, where we’re told to buy a house, with a mountain of debt, and do what we love, to be passionate and driven, whilst also making enough time for our wife or husband, boyfriend or girlfriend, for our children, parents and friends. Has life has ever been more exciting or more artificial?"
To go along with this fantastic news is a brand new single entitled Joan, I’m Disappearing, reportedly the band’s favourite track from the new cut.
“Joan… is about coming to terms with the dissolution of a long-term relationship and how neglect ultimately led to its breakdown,” vocalist Jack Bourke said.
This is the fourth taste fans have gotten from the new album, with the band already releasing singles Blood, Blame and This Modern Land.
City Calm Down will perform at Brisbane and Fremantle Laneway Festival over the weekend before jetting off overseas for a UK and European tour in May.
