Legendary Australian rockers The Barking Spiders are set to return for a special one-off show this month in what will be the band's first public gig in 35 years.

Shrouded in mystery, the five-piece who prefer to play secret shows and chose never to do interviews, photo-shoots or videos, released their one and only album, The Barking Spiders Live: 1983, which is considered an Australian classic.

It has long been speculated that The Barking Spiders are in fact an iconic Australian outfit formed in Adelaide in the '70s, however these rumours have never been confirmed or proven.

The band will take to the stage at Sydney's Enmore Theatre on Wednesday 28 February, where they'll be supported by emerging Sydney three-piece, The Dead Love.

Tickets for the one-off gig go on sale from 10am this Thursday (8 February); for more details, click on theGuide.
