A man has pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and being drunk in public at the Under The Southern Stars music festival this month.
As News Corp reports, the 32-year-old Crib Point punter appeared at Frankston Magistrates' Court yesterday where he was convicted and fined $1,000.
The court heard that the man stepped between two police officers and festival officials at the Hastings event around 6.30pm on 7 January and pretended to steal a firearm and made shooting motions.
After refusing to move away, the officers evicted the man from the site who later returned at around 9.30pm.
After being asked to leave again, the man reportedly struggled violently and had to be handcuffed and removed from the premises.
He was unable to be interviewed at Frankston police station due to being highly intoxicated.
The man's defence lawyer claimed that because he had no previous criminal history, he should be spared a conviction, however magistrate Peter Reardon said that type of behaviour cannot be tolerated.
"Whatever entered your head on that night (to behave that way), no one knows," Reardon said.
The Under The Southern Stars festival was headlined by Jimmy Barnes, as well as Richie Sambora and Orianthi.
