Fresh off their placement in the Hottest 100 over the weekend Brisbane’s duo DZ Deathrays have announced a series of pop-up bars to celebrate their new album.
The first pop-up will kick off this Friday (2 February) which is the same day that their third LP Bloody Lovely is set to drop.
The free event will then migrate south, popping up at Sydney’s Ramblin’ Rascal Tavern on the 3 February and The Beaufort in Melbourne the following night (4 February).
“We have always wanted to open our own bar at some point and I guess this is a good way to test the waters and also launch the new record with a bang,” vocalist Shane Parsons said.
“In the studio we were trying to get that feeling of a fun dive bar with our music playing in the background while people shoot pool and talk shit.”
The pop-up bars kick off at 7pm in Brisbane and 6pm in Sydney and Melbourne. It’s first in best dressed, so rock up early to avoid disappointment.
