The Queensland Symphony Orchestra is set to morph classical music with hip-hop, electronica and more at the freshly announced WAVE Festival.
Taking place over two nights at Brisbane’s beloved Powerhouse Theatre in April, the QSO will be joined by The Kite String Tangle and Horrorshow to bring fans a unique musical event.

“WAVE Festival is a morphing of modern sounds, technology and talent with the classical heritage and strength of the state’s orchestra, together with work from Australia’s hottest names,” QSO Music Director Alondra de la Parra said.
“Queensland Symphony Orchestra is passionate about creating extraordinary musical experiences for people of all ages and all walks of life. Our music sound-world is infinite, and we want to share the exhilaration of live orchestral music in all its shape-shifting glory.”
The festival will feature compositions from Gordon Hamiliton and Heather Shannon of The Jezabels.
