APRA has revealed the 20 songs in the running for Song Of The Year, which includes a lot of familiar faces and a couple of surprises.
Among those nominated are Aussie icons Paul Kelly for his song Firewood And Candles, Tim Rogers' Youth and Bernard Fanning’s Isn’t It A Pity. Lighting up the list, however, are a swathe of newcomers, including Alex Lahey for Every Day’s The Weekend, Amy Shark’s Weekends and Tash Sultana’s Murder To The Mind.
The shortlist will now go to the Song Of The Year voting academy who will determine the final five nominees, one of which will walk away victorious at the 2018 APRA Music Awards in March.
