PARKLIFE ANNOUNCES 2010 LINE UP AND DATES

Parklife is Australia’s unparalleled electronic/indie music festival, jam-packed with artists who completely define the moment in music. Parklife kick starts the summer season in idyllic outdoor venues where you and your friends step into a spectacle where the music is great and the world is your oyster. Parklife isn’t just another festival: Parklife is a world of its own.

But anyway, you probably want us to hurry the hell up and tell you the 2010 line up, so here it is:

We think it’s the best yet, not just more big acts in total, but some moments Parklife hasn’t seen the likes of and a lot of sets you’ll be buzzing about all summer long: For example Bloc Party lead singer Kele’s smash solo album brings him and his band to Parklife to dazzle us with his new album and massive single, plus the best Bloc Party classics live. Legendary US indie heroes The Dandy Warhols, responsible for some of the catchiest lyrics in modern rock and stars of the cult doco DIG! are joining the Parklife posse, while hot on the heels of their critically acclaimed new album, Groove Armada are ready to enchant us with their Black Light live show.

Parklife always brings you a bunch of hot fresh artists you haven’t seen before and 2010 is no exception: Darwin Deez, Ou est le Swimming Pool, Dan Black, Chiddy Bang, Memory Tapes, Delorean, The Glitch Mob, Wolf Gang and a bunch more are heading your way for the first time. If these and a heap of Parklife’s ground breaking DJs like Jack Beats, AC Slater, Mehdi, super hottie Brodinski and our number 1 party starter Busy P aren’t already on high rotation on your iPod / car stereo / massive bedroom sound system, then shame on you. Or more likely, if you want to show your friends what music’s all about in 2010 then Parklife is the one-day fun-way crash course with bells on!

Cut Copy will be playing their first Australian show in nearly 2 years at Parklife, having just about completed their rumoured to be best-yet 3rd album. Fresh from collaborating with Pharrell on her latest album release ‘Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans’, Uffie has a new live show that’ll pop your glocks off! Midnight Juggernauts circle past Saturn and head back to Earth via Parklife with a new live show featuring album number two of dizzying kaleidoscopic pop, ‘The Crystal Axis’. While we’re still working out whether we should really dance around to The Wombats drily comic ‘Lets dance to Joy Division’ the band are holed up in the studio putting the finishing touches to their brand new album. Fuzzy faves Soulwax return to the Parklife fold with a new live show and material that will no doubt reconfirm why they have played over 120 live shows and festivals world wide and Holy Ghost! Will play their first ever live shows in Australia. But what’s this? …drumroll…… yes, Missy Elliott is playing Parklife. Helloooooo! With a huge all dancing entourage and a brand new album? Oh yes! Bring it on!
