With one of the finest and most diverse line ups of any emerging music festival in Australia, The 6th annual Gum Ball Music & Arts Festival, is rapidly building its reputation as one of the more laid back and exclusive festivals on the map. Locally renowned for quality live music and excessive good times, this year the festival has managed to sell out its first release tickets in record time and for the first time with two nights on the program, it is well on its way to throwing the biggest ball yet.

Located at “Dashville,” a secluded natural bushland estate at Belford, Hunter Valley, the super relaxed weekend festival works hard each year to provide the ultimate musical program with something for everyone. Encompassing a mixed bag of musical assortment, the festival showcases around 20 live acts from around the country, ranging from blues to hip hop to straight out country rock and roll and this year looks to be one of the best. Some of the artists this year include, 16 piece Public Opinion Afro Orchestra, Melbourne pop rockers The Basics,, latin rhythm machine Tijuana Cartel, reggae hip hop stars Astronomy Class, ARIA blues award winners Collard Greens & Gravy, soul hip-hop superstars on the rise Laneous & The Family Yah, coastal blues patrol Marshall & The Fro, Triple J unearthed winner Abbie Cardwell, ABC Newcastle Vocalist of the Year Zoe K, with her 10 piece funk and soul outfit The Band of Lost Souls, vulgar blues rockers The Snowdroppers and hard hitting two piece Jackson Firebird.

Along with two nights onsite camping, popular BYO policy, superb food & market stalls, fancy dress competition, live art exhibition, a mega kiddies playground, roving performers, some big warm fires and a vibe similar to a backyard party, Gum Ball is a classic event for all ages and certainly one not to be missed.
